Boris Kozjak is an experienced lawyer with many years of experience in the legal profession and is one of the leading experts in the field of law and human rights protection. With a passion for justice and a strong commitment to the protection of human rights, Boris successfully built his legal career after graduating from the Faculty of Law in Zagreb in 1987.
During his career, Boris shaped his legal experience through a series of professional roles. In 1995 and 2001, he trained professionally in the law office of the Federal Republic of Germany with the help of the Bonn Foundation for International Cooperation. In addition, Boris was appointed permanent court interpreter for the German language in 1997 and actively participated in trials at the European Court of Human Rights of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, winning seven cases.
Boris is also on the list of lawyers in the embassies of the United States of America and Federal Republic of Germany, and since 2014 he has been working as a freelance interpreter for the European Court of Justice from Luxembourg. As a resident court interpreter for the German language, Boris successfully conducts correspondence in German and English, providing clients with high-quality service on an international level.
Boris Kozjak's greatest success as a lawyer is achieving a favorable outcome in the case Kovač v. Croatia (Application no. 503/05) before the European Court of Human Rights of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. As a devoted defender, Boris argued possible human rights violations against his client in all instances in Croatia. This complex case went through almost five instances, and Boris highlighted the case of violation of human rights with strong arguments before each of them. Finally, the European Court of Human Rights of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg accepted his arguments, becoming a key moment in the protection of human rights and the realization of justice.

In the years 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, Boris participates in the global legal project (The World Justice Project, 1025 Vermont Ave NW, Suite 1200 Washington, DC) where he was invited to evaluate the rule of law in Croatia. The sponsors of the project are, among others, the late Madeleine Albright and Robert Badinter.
Boris Kozjak is on the list of lawyers of the embassies of the United States of America and the Federal Republic of Germany, providing quality legal services to clients with these institutions. Since 2014, Boris has been engaged as a freelance interpreter for the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg, providing his interpretation services at a high level. As a permanent court interpreter for the German language, Boris is authorized to provide official interpretation in legal proceedings. Given his language skills, Boris is capable of correspondence and communication in both German and English, ensuring that clients' legal needs are properly and effectively conveyed.
